Aliex's Story

Aliex Sweeny, a 21 year old Kitsune, was a very remarkable boy. He lived in a land with very strange and interesting goings-on. In the city, while being born with animal features was fairly normal, having other features and abilities was strange, and very rarely accepted by the population. Because of this, he was raised as a single child in a very large house on a farm. He spent a lot of time alone; as he was born with quite a few 'different' features. He was born with fox ears and a fox tail, which was common, as many humans had animal chromosomes within their genes, but he was also a metamorphmagus, which meant, in short, he could change his features at will. When he was a baby, his parents didn't realize his special abilities right away. His ears and tail had begun to grow as a newborn, and the hair on his head was the same coppery-red colour as they were. It wasn't until Aliex had begun to grow that his metamorphism began to blossom. His hair changed colour from matching his ears to a light blonde colour, and as the child went through his emotions, the colour of his hair would change as well. If he was happy or displayed other cheerful emotions, the colours were bright and vibrant, as he changed emotions, the colours would either deepen in anger or agitation or start to fade as he became sad or depressed. Because of this, Aliex was very easy to read, and in his early school years, he was often made fun of and mocked for his inability to hide his feelings.


For this reason, his parents decided to pull the boy out of public school, and teach him themselves, allowing him to grow up on a farm far from the taunts and torment of other children. As a result of this, Aliex did not learn how to be around other people. Once grown, he often continued his childish behaviours, remaining quite innocent and in need of guidance from others. He had managed to make a few friends out of the families that'd managed to move into the area, as the town expanded and many people who didn't care for the city's rules grew quite fond of him, allowing their own children to play with the little Kitsune. By the time Aliex was 21 years old, though he looked much younger- around 16, at least- he'd gotten to know quite a few different people, and created many wonderful relationships.


When he was 13 years old, his cousin Kiyo came to live with them. She quickly became Aliex's favourite person in the whole entire world. She had so many different things about her, and seemed to embrace them, instead of being like Aliex, who felt ashamed of his differences, being cast aside from the rest of the population, solely because he was just a little different. But Kiyo, she was special. She wasn't ashamed of her differences, she... created them. She made them her own, and embraced them to be a part of her. This made Aliex feel much better about his differences. And as they grew, Aliex learned more from Kiyo than he ever thought he would in his whole life. She seemed to want to help him. She protected him from harm and always stood by his side. She felt more like a body guard than a cousin a lot of the time, but it certainly didn't bother Aliex. And his parents were more than happy to allow their relationship to grow, as they were always very worried for Aliex. But whenever Aliex needed her, Kiyo was there. She was there to keep him safe from danger; she was there to help him learn new things. She laughed with him, she played with him, and when he needed to cry, she was there to hold him too. No matter what he needed, Kiyo was always there to fill the space.
